I use this remote in my bedroom with my Ihome docking station/alarm clock IH4P and it works great. When you have to change the battery make sure it is a cr2032 or 3v and that the logo of the button battery facing towards the bottom of the remote. I can play my Ipod with a touch of the button, change the song or adjust the volume. The snooze button on my remote is used to adjust the background base. The battery used in the remote is the same as the backup clock used in the Ihome product so I suggest buying a few sets so you won't have to worry about your alarm or remote going out. Enjoy.
I think this is a really useful product, because you don't have to be near the Ihome to use it's volume control, "on and off" button, radio and stuff. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the remote controls the ipod only when it's directly connected to the Ihome (it doesn't do anything to the ipod, if it's connected by the cable), so sometimes you just end up using it to turn on and off or for the volume. But I can't say it's a bad product, 'cause it helps me a lot, specially when I'm in bed and don't want to get up.I recommend.
I honestly have to have the remote 3 inches away from the device in order for it to work.
It works great with my iHome. But I feel it is a bit expensive.
I love my iHome remote, but it doesn't always work the way I would like it to. I haven't replace my battery, I just use the one that came with it, so maybe it could work better. To make the iHome recieve the signal of the remote, you have to point it directly at the iHome. My iHome is on a shelf pretty far up, and when I'm sitting in my chair it is pretty hard to get that remote aimed just right. However, I know a few people who have the same problem as I do. Basically, it's a great accessory but it isn't a miracle.
